Dr. Richard Mantoan

A proud graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, Dr. Mantoan opened his Flossmoor office in 1985. Believing in helping the less fortunate, he organized a group of volunteer dentists to provide urgent dental care for area homeless persons and is a member of Donated Dental Services. He also developed a hepatitis vaccination program for south suburban dentists and staff. Dr. Mantoan has held all officer positions in the South Suburban Branch of the Chicago Dental Society and served for three years on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Dental Society. Professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society. Very happily married with three children, Dr. Mantoan enjoys family travel, classical music, and working with people.

Jeanette: Front Office

Do you like to be treated nice? For Jeanette, treating people in a genuinely friendly way just comes naturally. She has a long background in dentistry and knows both the front office and chairside. Jeanette will help you with any questions that may arise, make appointments, offer payment options, and make your visit with us pleasant from the moment you enter the office.

Cheryl: Dental Hygienist Cheryl

One word to describe Cheryl, our full time hygienist, is Gentle. Her ability to clean teeth effectively and comfortably is why she has been at Southland Smiles for over 20 years. Just as important is her caring personality and excellent communication skills. Our patients love her and you will too.

Lisa: Dental Hygienist Lisa

With knowledge comes power. Lisa will empower you with the knowledge of how your teeth and gums are affecting your health and then she will make your teeth and gums as clean and healthy as they need to be for long term dental success. Sound simple? It really is and the enthusiasm Lisa has for what she does will also make it fun......believe me.

Linda: Dental Assistant Linda

Linda, also known as my second set of hands, quit our office after her first day on the job! She had come back to work after raising 3 children. Materials and techniques had changed a lot in the ensuing years and it was a difficult day for her. Fortunately I convinced her not to give up. That day was over 20 years ago and was one of the most fortunate of my dental career.

Chris: Dental Assistant and so much more Chris

Chris is our go to person to keep the office running smoothly. With over 20 years of dental office experience both chairside and at the front desk, she efficiently assists Linda, Cheryl, and Jeanette in getting the job done for you. She does all this with the most pleasant of personalities and understanding your dental needs.

Karen: Insurance Advocate Karen

Dental insurance is a true benefit for those patients who have it. However it can be confusing and dealing with insurance company benefit personnel can be frustrating at times. Karen will verify benefits and be your advocate for receiving all you are entitled to from your insurance plan.
